ANCILARY TASKS | THE PROCESS

For both the review and the film poster I began with a rough sketch of the layout and how I wanted it to look.

I started with my film poster as I knew I wanted to include it in the review. I edited one of my raw images (see ANCILLARY TASK | POSTER IMAGES) on my macbook pro laptop using lasso selection:

I then uploaded a black screen on to pixlr and layered it with the image of the eye and cropped it to the size i wanted the film poster to be. In order to make the eye red, i altered the saturation and hue of the whole image until i reached the colour red i desired. I then cropped the title- taken from a screen shot of my short film again using lasso selection on editor. This again was then layered on the image of the eye and black screen along with a tag line 'See it of never know"

As changing the hue and saturation changed the colour of the white of the eye, i had to make the whole image black and white and use 'colour splash' to colour in just the iris. I then typed up the credits using the font and placed it in the bottom third of the image. Along with this, I also placed a certificate in the right bottom corner as this is a convention of film posters.

Lastly, i added more credits at the top of the image 'from the producers of..' and VOILĂ€:
